Entering My Next 7 Year Cycle...

Updated: Sep 5

Golden sunrise symbolising new beginnings, spiritual growth, and healing.
New beginnings

Yesterday, I turned 49 years old. With this birthday, I step gracefully into a new 7 year cycle, carrying the stories, lessons, and blessings of the years behind me.

The past seven years have been nothing short of transformative. I have journeyed through two rounds of cancer, cervical and breast, and walked the tender path of grief, saying goodbye to my dear dad and my mother-in-law. My family and I moved from Victoria to Queensland during the height of the pandemic, navigating lockdowns, uncertainty, and the shifting tides of a world in change. I recently birthed my first book into the world and now, as this next cycle begins, I stand on the edge of another sacred calling: the creation of the Golden Thread Women’s Circle with my dear friend Rita.

When I reflect, what shines most brightly is not only what I have survived, but how I have grown. My spiritual journey has deepened simply by following what lights me up, trusting the small sparks of joy, curiosity, and creativity that have led me step by step into new friendships, new paths, and new ways of being. In following my light, I have discovered the beauty of community, soul-aligned connection, and the quiet power of walking this path with others.

In many spiritual traditions, life is understood to move in cycles of seven years. These cycles invite us to pause, to reflect on where we have been, and to prepare for where we are going. The close of one cycle often brings a sense of completion, healing, and release, while the opening of the next brings fresh energy, new lessons, and opportunities to grow in ways we may not yet imagine. At 49, I feel the truth of this rhythm deeply within me. I can look back on the past seven years with reverence for the challenges I have faced and the strength I have discovered, while also opening my heart to the unfolding mystery of what lies ahead.

I often think of the butterfly and its extraordinary transformation. Before it can take flight, it enters the chrysalis and completely dissolves into a state of formlessness, breaking down into mush before re-creating itself anew. Only then does it emerge, fragile yet radiant, ready to soar with delicate wings of colour. This metamorphosis mirrors the human journey through cycles of change: we must sometimes dissolve, release, and surrender to the unknown in order to be reborn into a fuller expression of who we are.

I invite you, dear reader, to reflect on your own 7 year cycles. Are you in the middle of a cycle or are you just starting a new one like me? What have you walked through during this time? Which patterns are asking to be released, and what new beginnings are calling you forward? In honouring our own cycles, we come into greater harmony with the flow of life itself.

Human Design has also been one of many guiding stars for me. As a 6/2 Projector with Emotional Authority, I am here to live as a role model, to embody wisdom gained through lived experience, and to serve those who feel called to seek me out. My gift is not to push or force, but to shine in my authenticity, to wait for the invitation, and to share guidance that uplifts and empowers. This awareness has helped me honour my energy, deepen my trust in the timing of life, and embrace the truth that my journey, every challenge and every triumph has prepared me to stand in service to others with compassion and grace.

As I step into this new cycle, I do so with gratitude, reverence, and excitement. Life has been both tender and fierce, yet through it all I have learned to trust my path, honour my light, and continue to open my heart to what is waiting just beyond the horizon.

To all those who walk alongside me, friends, family, and soul sisters, I thank you. And to those who feel called to journey with me in circle, in conversation, or through the pages of my book, know that you are so deeply welcome. Together, we rise, we heal, and we remember the divine within us all.

I have attached a free downloadable '7 Year Cycle Journal Prompts' for you to reflect on.

With love, Steph x
